What we store
- Your email address and password (the password is stored hashed).
- Your profile: name, surname, date of birth, preferred foot, preferred position and, if you add them, a photo and the town you live in (the town only, never your address).
- The matches you organize, join and show up to or miss, including the location and photo of a field you set for a match.
- The messages you write in a match chat, and the notifications the app sends you about your matches.
- The skill and behaviour votes other players give you after a match, and the votes you give.
- Scores calculated from the above: skill, reliability, behaviour, man of the match stars and quality points.
- The language you use the app in.
Why, and on what legal basis
Your account, profile and match history are needed to provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract).
Votes and the scores built from them help players organize balanced, fair matches. We process them on the basis of our legitimate interest in doing so. You can object at any time by contacting us.
Who can see what
- Other signed-in players see your first name, the first letter of your surname, your age, foot, position, photo, town and scores.
- Nobody else sees your full surname, date of birth or email address.
- Players never see who gave them which vote, only the resulting averages.
- Your photo is stored at a web address that works without signing in, for anyone who has the address.
- Messages in a match chat are seen by that match's organizer and players, under your first name and surname initial.
- People who are not signed in only see the list of matches.
How your scores are calculated
Everyone starts at 4.0 quality points. Skill is the average of the skill votes you receive. Reliability rises each time you show up and drops when you don't. A low behaviour average lowers your quality points, and man of the match stars raise them slightly. The scores are calculated automatically and are only used inside the app.
Location and address search
"Near me" asks your device for its position, rounds it to about a kilometre and uses it only to find matches around you. It is not saved to your profile.
When you create a match, what you type into the address search is sent to Photon, a search service run by Komoot on OpenStreetMap data, to suggest places. It is not sent together with your account.
Notifications
App notifications and email notifications are off until you turn them on in Settings, and you can turn them off there at any time. For app notifications we store an address for your device, issued by your browser's push service (such as Google, Apple or Mozilla), which delivers them. Emails are sent to your sign-in address through our email provider.
Cookies
Essential cookies and device storage keep you signed in and remember your language, your time zone, your theme and your cookie choice. The app does not work without them, so they need no permission.
Advertising cookies are only used if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie pop-up. With "Only essential" no advertising code is loaded at all and you see no ads. You can change your choice at any time under Settings.
Advertising
The app is free to use and is paid for by advertising, shown through Google AdSense in clearly marked spaces. To show and measure ads, Google and its partners may store cookies or similar identifiers on your device and use data such as your IP address and which pages you open.
Ads are only loaded after you accept advertising cookies. Google may then also ask whether the ads may be personalised. You can adjust that at any time in Google's ad settings.
We never give advertisers your name, email, votes, messages or profile. No ads are shown in the match chat.
Where it is stored
Data is stored with our hosting provider Supabase, which processes it on our behalf. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile, photos, match history, chat messages and the votes you received. Votes you gave to others are kept without any link to you.
Your rights
You can correct your profile under Profile, and delete your account under Settings. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to restrict its use, or object to it, by writing to info@bytetech.ee. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or your local authority.
Age
You must be at least 16 years old to use the app.
